Change of management at Lamy – Beate Oblau and Thomas Trapp go into the planned retirement

Heidelberg, June 2022

With a new vision for the brand and company, a comprehensive transformation process began for Lamy in 2018 under the management of a trio: Beate Oblau, Thomas Trapp and Peter Utsch set the strategic course for the future of the Heidelberg writing instrument manufacturer. After Steffen Rübke joined the management as CEO in February, Oblau and Trapp are now retiring as planned.

LAMY 2000 blue Bauhaus: Limited edition for the Bauhaus anniversary year

100 years of Bauhaus: to this day, the legendary design school has had a lasting influence on architecture and design. Lamy's design philosophy also has its origins in the design principles of the Bauhaus, which was founded a hundred years ago this year. To mark the anniversary year, Lamy is dedicating a set limited to 1,919 pieces to the Bauhaus – consisting of the LAMY 2000 fountain pen as a special version in dark blue and a notebook with paper from Gmund’s Bauhaus collection.

While international expansion was pushed ahead in sales, the focus in marketing was on brand experience - including in the form of the new augmented reality magazine LAMY specs. Since June, the new three-man management team around Beate Oblau, Thomas Trapp and Peter Utsch has also been setting new accents in the corporate strategy.

Lamy celebrates the official opening of the new concept store in New York

Heidelberg / New York, December 3, 2018

Last Thursday, Lamy celebrated the official opening of its second US concept store in New York's SoHo district. Around 100 guests were invited, including customers and partners as well as influencers and representatives of the design scene. In addition to the new brand presence in New York, Lamy presented artistic works by Christoph Niemann, which the illustrator developed exclusively for the store.
