Fine, medium, wide? Beveled or rather straight? There are numerous differences in nibs and there is a reason for this: every handwriting is different! Lamy offers the right nib for every writing style and preference. Our Lamy guide tells you how to find the right one for you.
In principle, you can combine your favorite Lamy fountain pen with any Lamy nib and thus create your perfect writing instrument. An exception is the LAMY 2000 model, which has its own special spring. To replace the nib, especially sensitive gold or special nibs, please contact a Lamy retailer you trust.

M spring (Z 50)

Almost everyone can get by with this nib: the M nib from Lamy is an all-rounder that is suitable for most handwriting and writing styles. Fine and broad feathers: EF, F, B, BB

Writers who hold their hands straight will feel particularly comfortable with one of these nibs: Lamy offers straight nibs in the strengths “extra fine” (EF), “fine” (F), “wide” (B) and “extra broad” (BB) . Tip: Choosing the right nib size depends on the size of your handwriting: the smaller the handwriting, the finer the nib should be. Beveled springs: OM, OB, OBB

Anyone who tends to hold their hands at an angle when writing should try one of these nibs: "left-slanted medium" (OM), "left-slanted wide" (OB) and "left-slanted extra wide" (OBB). These are ideal for anyone who either wants to "compensate" for a tilted hand position, or appreciates the line variation that results from the special cut. Calligraphy Nibs (Z50): 1.1mm / 1.5mm / 1.9mm
