Data protection declaration

Respecting the personal rights of our customers and partners is a matter of fundamental principle for us. This includes how we handle personal data from your Internet visit. We know that you as an Internet user want your privacy sphere to be protected. We therefore act in accordance with the applicable legal provisions for the protection of personal data and for data security. Below, you can find out what data we collect, process and use and for what purposes, what rights of information you have and lots more.

Area of application

This data protection statement applies to the use of the website (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Lamy website’) provided by FCE Lifestyles Pvt Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ‘Lamy’). This data protection statement does not apply to the websites of other service providers to which the Lamy website merely refers by means of a link.

Personal data

Personal data are individual details about personal or material circumstances of a specific or determinable natural person. The fundamental personal datum is your name. Your address, bank account, identity card or telephone number, your email or IP address, and information about which writing system you prefer, for example, are also deemed to be personal data if they are connected with your name or can be assigned to your name by us with the means at our disposal. Such data with which it is not possible to determine your actual identity or with which to do so would at least require considerable effort are not, however, deemed to be personal. These include for example the above-mentioned information if we receive it in anonymous form or under a pseudonym and cannot therefore assign it to a natural person.
Every order is shipped to a single destination address only. If the products are to be shipped to different addresses, multiple orders are required to be placed for each destination.

Anonymity

When using the Lamy website you will remain anonymous unless you voluntarily and at your own discretion provide us with personal data, such as by completing our contact form.

Automatic gathering, processing and use of personal data

On each of your visits to the Lamy website, we will automatically collect information about which IP address is assigned to your computer, which browser and which operating system you use and which areas of the Lamy website you have viewed. These data are stored in log files on the Web server. To protect against misuse of our computer systems, it is necessary to store the IP address of each visitor for a temporary period. If in addition we use the log files to assess general user behaviour for the purposes of advertising, market research or to design our website to meet the needs of users, the IP addresses and the personal data that we have received or stored from the respective user will be rendered anonymous in advance. Otherwise, the IP addresses will be deleted from the log files. As a result, you will in any event remain anonymous in connection with the automatic collection and temporary storage of your IP address. Assessment of the user behaviour, incidentally, means a statistical assessment of the click stream – i.e. which website the user comes from, how long he/she stays on the Lamy website, which areas of the Lamy website are visited and in what sequence, and for what destination the visitor leaves them. This is not to be confused with the collection of use profiles in which the surfing behaviour of a specific person is registered and stored.
